Description: 1853 SEATED LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR ◾ A&R 'ARROWS & RAYS' ◾ PCGS CERTIFIED VF (DETAILS) This is a very attractive, appealing, modestly-toned silver coin which we have owned for many years. It has never before been offered as a certified example, and we fully expected an XF grade, but then we also didn't expect the 'cleaned' designation. Try as we might, we can't see consistent evidence of cleaning but PGCS's microscopes may be more high-powered than ours. (And while cleaning marks are not evident in the candid shots, or IRL, some are clear in the PCGS photo.) It's a very old coin and likely a very old cleaning. At any rate, it's a solid, beautifully-patinated PQ example despite the details designation. And one we're confident you'll be proud to add to your collection. More than one eBayer has written in to say this looks like an XF coin to them. Make of that what you will -- it's possible that a resubmit would be profitable but we definitely can't guarantee that.
