Description: 1868 5 Cent Shield Nickle With Stars Variety 2. ~ A nice example of this 5 cent nickle type coin to fill in your collection. This third year of issue design was struck shortly after the civil war by the original Philidelphia mint and is actually the first so called "Nickle" representing the begining of the 5 cent copper / nickle composition coins replacing the prevoius silver half dime issues. This design ran from 1866 thru 1883 and was then replaced by the "V" Liberty nickle. This piece is in Good condition but I'm not an expert so you decide. Please look closely at the photos. I want us both to be happy with your Selection and I offer a 30 day Satisfaction Return Policy, (buyer pays shipping both ways). Thanx for viewing. Please check out my other listings. Enjoy!
