Description: 1878 P VAM 33 Morgan Silver Dollar. 7/4 tail feather variety. Main feature of the reverse is tremendously doubled legs, also design remains, and die gouge near eagle's neck. Much doubling in obverse and die crack in date. Obverse - Doubled E, P, and R in E PLURIBUS. In date, 187 is doubled with 1 doubled on left of shaft, 8 on top surface, and 7 on left of top serif. Die crack from 1 through 8 to 7 with chip on left between loops of first 8. All stars on left and first three stars on right doubled. Area around nose and lips over polished. Fine diagonal polishing line through R in Type II LIBERTY into wheat. Incomplete cap band. Reverse - 7/8 tail feathers, 7/4 variety with strong one showing under TF 4, two faint ones between TF 4 & 5 and TF 5 & 6, and very faint one under TF 6 on this early strike specimen. Eagle's legs are one and one half times normal width with doubled talons. Design remains in olive leaves, below branch on left and center of wreath bow.
