Never use staples. 1937 D - scarcest of all Walkers, more so in higher grades. Incredible. Original vintage strong-folder-tarnished coin, great grime on this coin. The areas of the coin not tarnished have a shiny bronze to pewter colored shiny "plated" look to them. Coin is also thinly coated with something green, which might be a film of copper compounds or PVC residue. I believe it to be copper compounds from the acidic environment of the old folder. There are also 2 or 3 specks of more concentrated green material. Seeing it's come this far and there is not obvious deep and ongoing surface corrosion, I wouldn't try to clean this myself. A professional restoration expert could do it correctly, like before a certification is done. Has a scrape across her skirt on the mid to lower west side. Some other very tiny new scratches from the recent mishandling. Rims and edges look great, no other damages observed, good neck feathers for grade. Looks like this one also has a re-punched mint mark, only ever seen one other that sold last year. Weighs 12.5 grams, coin must have weighed 12.6 grams when minted, thick blank.
