It almost never got published. Upon the declaration of the State, the surrounding Arab armies immediately attacked. Jerusalem had power failures. The Linotype machines started working at 1:00 AM and the iconic paper became a cherished part of history. In honor of the upcoming 75th Anniversary, and with access to a rare original paper, we set out to produce a limited run of the most authentic reproduction ever made. Printed on fine matte paper this absolutely beautiful print captures all the nuances of the original letterpress printing - including broken characters, font and alignment inconsistencies, paper discoloration - and even some show-through” of some of the ads from the reverse side - all in actual size.
