1955 Kelloggs Canada PEP Card Canadian Armoured Corps FC70-2 Cereal Tanks

Description: Here is a Black Border Kelloggs Pep Trading Card issued in Canada during 1955. The cards where printed on the backs boxes of Kelloggs Pep Cereal and were to be cut out by the child with the supervision of an adult. There are 64 cards in total in the series, which is divided up into 4 subsets. A-Indians, B-Canadian Army, C-Sports, D-Aircraft. The titles on the fronts of the cards are printed in both English and French, and feature black borders. The backs are blank as issued. Burdick lists this series as FC70-2 in his American Card Catalogue. The Card measures 3 3/8 inches by 2 1/16 inches approximately (keeping in mind these are hand cut from boxes) This card is number B-2 Armoured Corps. This card has been cut out fairly well with lots of black border visible. There is a free from creases with very little border chipping (rare with dark border sets0 and relatively nice corners. I have scanned the front of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself. . These are a scarce issue . Most kids would have cut these out and used them as toys (usually thrown out after awhile). I imagine not many survived. Due to the lower population in Canada than in the US or the UK, print runs in Canada were much smaller compared with American or British Cards. Because of this the majority of all Canadian non sports cards are far scarcer than card issued in the USA and UK.
