Description: Robert Kennedy was assassinated in the kitchen area of the Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel on the night he won the June 4, 1968 California Democratic Presidential Primary. After having just finished his speech and, while exiting the hotel, he was shot. He died early in the morning of June 6. Bobby may have been on the way towards the White House if Sirhan Sirhan hadn't killed him - and that man is actually still alive in a California jail. Which proves that the state has been a loony bin for decades. Almost two decades ago we purchased a bulk lot of paper material which was printed for use in the 1968 New York State Democratic Presidential Primary which was held on June 18, 1968. Several of those items promoted Robert F. Kennedy for President in that primary, from the state for which he held a United States Senate seat. Obviously, this material had to be withdrawn from use after he was killed two weeks prior in early June. Included in the lot we bought were some rare, large size posters with wording for people to help at RFK headquarters on Primary Day. We sold through those to collectors fairly fast. In the group we bought were some of these 6" x 4" poll cards one of which you are buying now. It has RFK memorial words by former John F. Kennedy advisor and speech writer, Ted Sorenson, from when he was trying to become a NY 17th District delegate to the up-coming DNC in Chicago. His printed thoughts must have felt moving and sad to most New York democrats since RFK had been their Senator. The other side of the card at the bottom even invites voters to "seek a newer world," a popular RFK campaign slogan and the name of one of his books. RFK material has gained much added interest this year since his eldest son - and namesake - is also running for president over a half-century later. This is in nice condition but please look at our images to judge this for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases even though eBay says we don't. We just issue a refund for any overpayment. Shipping on this will be $5.50 with tracking. 7619
