Description: 4 Congratulations Greetings Antique Postcards. EMB. Gold trim. Flowers. PUBL:GDD This is a nice SET of GREETINGS postcards that would have been sent out for Best Wishes and Friendship. These postcards all show flowers and open envelopes with more flowers inside them. These are nicely EMBOSSED postcards with strong GOLD TRIM around the perimeter. They also have swastikas on the corners, which were signs of good luck back then. They are nicely drawn, and have good detail, which makes them pleasing to look at. They are colorful. This is a nice mixture for the collector. The publisher is GDD, a well known and respected German publisher. The postcards were published by Gottschalk, Dreyfuss & Davis who published during 1909-1915, a time which is considered the “Golden Age of Postcards”. They also published illustrated booklets for holidays and greetings. They were very popular with the public and also made hand-colored postcards. They printed in Germany and had offices in Munich, London and New York. Their “Girl at the Box” trademark logo shows a young girl reaching up to put a letter in an antique mailbox. This publisher is sought after and highly desired by collectors. These are good postcards to add to a collection. They would appeal to collectors because they capture the style used back in the early 1900s, and provide a "glimpse of life" back then. Overall, a nice selection of antique Greetings postcards at a reasonable price. The postcards are UNPOSTED (1) and POSTED (3) with cancel dates of 1909-10. These postcards were "Printed in Germany" during the Golden Age of Postcards (1908-1915). They have DIVIDED backs. These are BETTER POSTCARDS and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. Regarding condition, please note that we try to remove damaged postcards from our lots, and only sell those postcards that are worth having in a collection. However, because of their age (over 100 years old!), please expect some creases, cuts, stains, paper toning, and edge wear on the postcards. We do not want you to be disappointed. Look closely at the photos we provide to see the postcards and the backs. The postcards are shipped in a sturdy envelope. We only ship within the USA; we do not ship internationally. USA shipping is with tracking, and we use eBay Standard Envelope mail when the value is under $20 and the weight is under 3 oz; and, we use USPS Ground Advantage when the value is over $20 or the weight is over 3 oz. We combine shipping whenever possible. If you purchase multiple lots, you can wait and we will send you an invoice for the combined shipping before you pay. In case you have already paid for the lots, we will still combine the shipment and refund you any extra shipping charges back to your account. Please visit our eBay store, VINTAGE POSTCARDS FOR COLLECTORS, for other fine antique and vintage postcards and collectible items.
