Description: This listing is for a gorgeous French Deco grandfather clock. The clock is quite unique as it exhibits a myriad of styles and design features. It dates to the period around 1910-1920. The casing is made from birds eye maple, giving it an almost calico pattern. It has metal ornamentation and inlaid designs, an homage to French tradition. The shaping of the case is quite geometric and it is complimented by beveled glass and an Art Deco style dial. The weighs and pendulum are brass. The clock stands on 4 peg-leg feet that are quite similar to those of the later Mid Century Modern styles. This clock was most likely made in France by a firm that made high quality cases and imported high quality German movements to be used within their clock casings. The movement is by German maker, Matthias Bäuerle. It has his "EMBEE" stamp on the reverse. The movement is a weight driven 8 day time, strike, and quarter strike, running on 3 trains. The clock has functions allowing Westminster chimes to play on the quarter hour. A separate train chimes on the hour. This clock measures 86.25 x 18.5 x 10.25 inches Note: this listing is for local pickup only. If you require shipping, you may make your own arrangements with 3rd party shippers such as, UShip
