Description: For your consideration is this antique shaving cup made in Germany and sold by Koken Barbers' Supply Company of St. Louis, MO. I was able to locate online a catalog with these style of cups dating back to 1910 and assume this to have been produced around that time. The bottom rim is incised and reads "Germany". The bottom center is stamped "KOKEN BARBERS' SUPPLY CO. / ST. LOUIS / U. S. A.". The cup is personalized with "James W. Carlos" in old english script. Above the name is the Square and Compasses Masonic Symbol with lovely forget-me-nots on each side. The back is blank. The cup is accented in gold. There is a little gold loss to be expected for an item of this age and type. There are some inclusions inside on the bottom of the cup, most likely straw used in the production process. There are no chips or cracks noted. The cup measures 3.7 inches in diameter x 3.9 inches tall. Such a lovely piece of Masonic history. Shop with confidence when you shop with us.
