John Rees a gentleman of Merthyr Tydfil has bequeathed his estate to two Merthyr men ; David Davies ,a gentleman and Thomas Williams , a surgeon. Both men are from Garth in the area of Merthyr. A legal question concerning the Will has arisen and advice is being sought. This item contains a copy of the whole will and then several questions asked ,presumably , by the legal representatives. At the bottom is a written reply from the person whose advice and opinion has been sought. The reply has been signed and dated 20th July 1791. The three and half pages (32 cm x 39 cm ) are all handwritten. The estate concerned seems to contain land ( Pwll- y - Wh...…?) with iron and coal assets The paper document is in a used but good condition.A little creased but complete and presentable with no real damage. A nice authentic piece of South Welsh social history, handwritten over 200 years ago, for the local historian. UK postage is free.
