Item specifics are:   Film 1: Henry Ford's Mirror of America (1962) B&W Runtime 36 Minutes This is a magnificent collection of historical USA movie clips with the emphasis on autos and their effect on life. Compilation of images and sequences from the Ford Film Collection, with excellent footage of United States history, culture, industry and daily life between about 1915 and 1930. Highlights include Coney Island, the increasing pervasiveness of the automobile in American life, and early manufacturing footage. Film Release Date: 1962 Film Entered the Public Domain: 1991 Film 2: Freedom of the American Road (1955) B&W Runtime 26 Minutes Henry Ford II introduces this film designed to encourage private citizens to unite and support road improvement. Part of the lobbying campaign that culminated in legislation authorizing the Interstate Highway system in 1956, this film shows community efforts to improve and increase safety on the Bay shore Highway in the San Francisco Bay Area; congestion in Pittsburgh and the Golden Triangle redevelopment area; the economic benefits of Boston's circumferential highway, Route 128; and safety education in St. Joseph, Missouri. Film Release Date: 1955 Film Entered the Public Domain: 1984 Film 3: The American Road (1953) B&W Runtime 38 Minutes Shows development of transportation in the United States during the first half of the 20th century, emphasizing growth of automobile industry, roads and highways. Many shots of old Ford cars throughout the film. Film Release Date: 1953 Film Entered the Public Domain: 1982 Film 4: Harvest Of The Years (1938) B&W Runtime 22 Minutes Manufacturing the 1939 Ford automobile at the River Rouge plant, where Ford made their own electricity, steel, tires, etc. "Shows mass production of Ford cars in an assembly line; the research necessary to carry on the work; materials that go into the making of the Ford." Film Release Date: 1938 Film Entered the Public Domain: 1967 I claim ownership and rights to this media.
