Description: A fine near pair of rustic hand carved Adirondack arm chairs from Old Hickory Furniture of Martinsville IN, each with a small Old Hickory metal badge, the left #42 and the right #41. The seats are backs double woven with rattan with splayed arms - mama & papa bear chairs! Since 1899, Old Hickory Furniture has been handcrafted in Central Indiana using sustainably sourced hickory saplings and other natural resources. The pair is in very good condition, with some minor rattan losses and imperfections, minor shrinkage cracks, and wear commensurate with age and use. They date to the 20th century. Dimensions: Papa Bear chair: 39 ½” H x 27 ⅜” W x 28” D, with seat height of 17”; Mama Bear chair: 36 ½” H x 24 ½” W x 24” D, with seat height of 16 ¾”.
