TWO-PIECE STYLE GRIPS EXPLAINED:Note: One-Piece style grips do not have a visible screw but instead use an internal spacer to mount the grips. Two-Piece style grips incorporate a visible screw, allowing easy and quick removal for cleaning or maintenance of your revolver. We manufacture both types. Both styles of our grips will interchange and work on either style of grip frame, no matter how your revolver is currently set up. Both styles are traditional and historical designs and both were originally used on early Colts, so whichever style you choose is really a matter of personal preference. One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips with no visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a spacer (included with the grips) which is user mounted to the inside of the grip panels to hold them in place instead of a using a screw. To ensure optimum fit and best performance, the spacer is sent unmounted since all gripframes vary slightly in inside dimensions. Installation is simple and generally takes only a few minutes. Illustrated instructions included with each order. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw. One-Piece grips are preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, and are seen on many early Colts. Once mounted, they are fully removable by removing the three backstrap screws, and will not alter your revolver in any way. Reinstallation is in reverse order. Alternatively, our Two-Piece style grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw) offer the superior convenience of quick grip removal using only the screw (also included with the grips). Our Two-Piece style grips also include our proprietary Conversion Kit, allowing their use on revolvers that do not have a grip pin in the frame (as is the case with most Italian-made revolvers and others that currently have a one-piece style grip). The Conversion Kit replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows the grips to lock up tight on the frame, allowing no movement. This requires no modification to your revolver. Two-piece grips give you the advantage of easier access to your revolver for cleaning and maintenance, while preserving the integrity of your revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic historical design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by many shooters and collectors.Fully illustrated, easy-to-follow mounting instructions are included with every order. To ensure that we send the correct grips, when ordering please attach a message to your order stating the two-digit code found in the small rectangular box on your revolver (as shown in the 2nd picture in the listing). If you have a newer revolver and cannot find the code, please send the first three digits of your serial number so we can identify your particular revolver. If we do not hear back from you, we will send the most common version of grips to ensure we get these out on time.2) Also, if you have a BRASS gripframe (such as is sometimes found on the Cimarron “Pistolero”, Davidson’s Exclusive 1873s, EMF’s GWII “Gunfighter”, or Taylor’s “1873 Single Action Stag” revolvers, for example), please attach a note to your order informing us. 3) Finally, please note that these WILL NOT fit Pietta gripframes that are around 3-1/2” tall (such as EMF’s Alchimista, or Cimarron’s Bad Boy or El Malo 2). If your grips measure 3-1/2”, our Pietta 1860 Army grips are milled to fit these, which you can find in our store. Please feel free to contact us if you cannot locate what you need. What these WILL NOT FIT: These WILL NOT FIT any revolvers from other makers (such as Uberti, Armi San Marco, Colt, Ruger, etc.). Please take a careful look at the shape of your gripframe. These are for the “plowhandle” style revolvers only.08152300A note on the Italian-produced Revolvers: The Italian firms, located in Northern Italy, have been making SAA style revolvers now for well over a half century, and have made a huge number of makes and models and grip frame profiles with varying configurations over the years. Better materials and our proprietary pigmenting process yields a finished product better than the originals. These grips are milled from a solid slab and are not cast. This avoids the inclusions, air pockets, and most importantly the cheap "cast plastic" look found in the urethane and other imitation materials commonly available. Like natural grips, with use and handling over time they will form an authentic patina and will only improve with age. They look better, age better, and perform better. And perhaps best of all, these grips are made entirely in the U.S.A.! Gun prop and holster not included -- only the grips are for sale. Please note that the grips shown are a stock photo used for illustration purposes only. Your grips will be individually hand cut and appear similar to these. The "B-Western": These "B-Western" Style Custom grips are hand-carved one-at-a-time in recognition of one of America's most outstanding and lasting cultural achievements of the 20th century -- the "B-Western." Styled after the grips seen on the revolvers of classic Hollywood Westerns of the 1930's to the 1960's (the "golden era of Hollywood Westerns"), these grips were featured in numerous Western productions both on Television and on the Silver Screen. Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Rifleman, Rawhide, The Virginian, and many others too numerous to mention, all took America back to a simpler time and place. Times have changed, but the lessons and values of that unforgettable period still have a place in the hearts of millions of Americans and many other Western fans throughout the world who appreciate the enduring contribution to our culture and society made by the unique and colorful characters of the Old West. 4.18.13 Arizona Custom Stag™ Grips: These grips are completely unique, custom, and one-of-a-kind. Each is hand cut, and no two are the same. You will not find another set like them on any gun at any Western event, guaranteed! Hand made in painstaking, exacting detail to authentic feel and dimensions. We strive for museum quality with every pair. Arizona Custom Stag™ looks, feels, and ages like the genuine product, with durability far exceeding Ivory (Ivory is a relatively fragile material, which often cracks under stress and age). Magna-Tusk™, our Premier Grade product used in these grips, is filled with natural materials, and works and polishes as well as looks like the real thing. It takes carving with superior detail and definition, and accurately captures that authentic, weathered, deep, dark chocolate brown/black color in the bark pattern sought after by stag collectors. With age, it develops a soft, mellow patina which makes it indistinguishable from the more expensive and fragile product. These grips are used in professional applications where only the best will do. We have supplied these grips to Hollywood and other locations that demand only the best in durability, design, and authenticity. We cut no corners, and make every grip with the intention of it being a grip which will last a lifetime. A fine revolver deserves a fine grip. If you have been looking for the ultimate B-Western grip, you won't be disappointed!! The durability and excellent aging characteristics of these grips are enhanced by our exclusive and permanent bonded pigment application process which, once cured, won't chip, crack, or peel like superficially applied paint products found on less expensive grips. Accept no substitutes. Arizona Custom Stag™ adds a touch of class and realism which is completely lost by using lesser quality "cast plastic" imitations available elsewhere. Grip screws included with all grips. As with all Single Action grips, minor fitting may be, but is not usually, required due to small variations in grip frames. Full instructions included with all grips. The distinctive qualities and authentic presentation of Arizona Custom Stag™ offers an authentic look, heft and feel which invoke the aura and spirit of the Old West. Guaranteed to please even the most discriminating collector and Western memorabilia aficionado. Full money back, less shipping, if not fully satisfied! If returning, please note that the product must be returned in original, unaltered condition. Remember, above all: Ride Hard, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth!
