Description: Don’t like the price? Make an offer. For sale: original rare and vintage 1965 Kay Model 720 bass guitar amplifier. This amp is essentially Kay's version of a tube-rectified Supro Thunderbolt. This amp, while initially intended for use with bass, sounds incredible for guitar. The combination of the 15" Oxford alnico speaker, (2) 6L6GC power tubes, (1) 5U4 rectifier tube, with (1) 5879 and (1) 7199 preamp tubes, produces a deep, rich, crunchy, overdriven tone. Original RCA black plate 6L6 power tubes. Additionally, this amplfier had a second chassis with an added (2) 6L6 power tubes installed way back when. The 5U4 rectifier tube was replaced with a solid state rectifier at some point. The Tolex is in great condition throughout. This is a working amplifier; however, the amp may need to be re-capped do to its age, and it is highly recommended that the power supply cable be upgraded to a modern cable for safety.
