Arthur Tequaecshe (March 6, 1936 - present) is an artist, potter, and art instructor. As a Pueblo Indian, most of the inspiration for his hand-carved pottery and pen-and-ink drawings comes from his heritage. As a child, born on a reservation in New Mexico, he was named Little Elk, but later changed his name to “Tequaecshe,” which is Little Elk in his native language. The name Arthur was given to him when he served in the Marine Corps. He also received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mass Communication from Arizona State University. Tequaecshe oversaw Studio 19, a part of the Licking County Art Association
