For the Beaudoin family, an interest in knotting started in 1939 when Matthew Beaudoin's grandfather worked as a bosun’s mate on cargo ships running between Argentina and New York City. His grandfather mastered many knots during his travels, and these skills were handed down to others in the family, eventually creating what is today Mystic Knotwork.
