Tekno/KIRK 911 S Coupe nº 935 - VERY GOOD CONDITION

Description: Item is intact, original and unrestored - pictures in this listing are not of the one I am selling, contact me if further details is needed. Condition: Wheels are in great shape and roll like they should. Steering works perfectly. The interior is near mint condition and the exterior paint as well as details are in fair shape, with the exception of the limited amount of very tiny paint bubbles on the doors on both sides of the car as well as the frunk and rear-hood. Everything works as it should, suspension is nice and firm, seats decline and recline with a sufficient amount of friction, doors open and close, steering works as it should. History and facts about the model, box & instruction: The model was developed and produced at Termax in 1971 for KIRK as one of - if not the last to come from KIRK. Model cars were coming to an end by 1970. It had become too expensive to develop and produce them for the small Danish manufacturers. The Porsche 911 S diecast model was a personal investment for E. Lerager Larsen, the owner of KIRK [toy manufacturer]. He spent a great deal of his own money in the development of the model, due to the fact that KIRK was on the edge of bankruptcy. Only a few cars came into the shops, before KIRK had to sell off the rights for the production of several models to Algrema/Tekno. Tekno were themselves in financial dire times, and would themselves close down the year after in 1972. The one I am selling is part of the last batch before production ended in 1972. Tekno closed down their factory in Denmark due to financial trouble, and only a handful of models [not including the Porsche] were in continued production in the Netherlands.
