Description: This is a 'Francis Searchlights' wooden carry case. The box would have originally housed a lantern of some sort with the serial number 5A/4411. It is well made, very sturdy and is painted black. There is the original makers ID plate to the front with a clasp closure. The lid is hinged at the back and has the original leather carry stap on top. Approximate dimentions are; Length 33cm, depth 21cm, height 26cm. Overall the condition is fair considering it's age. There is some paint missing in places where the box has been knocked and the leather strap is cracked (but still fully usable). There are also some holes drilled through the base, front and side where it has once been fixed down or had other attachments (please see the photos for more detail).
